starcraft II?

well my friend is begging me to get SC2 when it comes out but is it fun? i've never played these type of games, so i'm wondering what kind of genre is it? is it an rpg? is it one time pay or monthly pay? thanks

1. Starcraft one is practically 10 bucks, pick it up and see for yourself, the computer requirments are thin to none, It's an RTS. Meaning you build an army and attack the opposing force. Its one time pay, because its not an RPG...
