Starcraft RPG

Does Anyone Have Any Starcraft Strategies???

Im trying to improve my skill at the game because I usually loose against my friends. I would prefer if you had Zerg strategies because I am the best with them. If you could, tell me strategies against each of the other races(preferatly Protoss).

  1. get alot of zerglings. and wtfpwn everything!
  2. Zerg is a rush based species. Get tons of Zerglings fast rush into a base and hopefully they aren't fully setup. If that fails fall back and build a little defense of Sunken Colonies inside your base and Lurkers outside (if your playing Brood War if not then just do the Sunkens). Try to build up Mutalisks and Hydras for an attack force and then use a "spy" like a Queen or something to fly over other bases and "scout". Then rush the weakest one. Try your own style and incorporate others styles as you see over time. Good Luck.
  3. teamliquid.net you cant just play starcraft and win, you need build orders and actual organization of builds. you should never have more than 300 minerals and 200 gas at ALL TIME. your actions per minute (APM) should have an average of 160 at least for quality zerg players. pro koreans have an average of 230.
  4. Boom has some things right. The thing is (once you get some BO you like from that site) to play a lot. I'd also suggest downloading some replays of great zerg players, not to 100% immitate them per se, but to know what units to go when (correct unit combinations), what units counter what, etc... "you cant just play starcraft and win, you need build orders and actual organization of builds. you should never have more than 300 minerals and 200 gas at ALL TIME." Now this is true for beginners to a degree. The thing is is you don't want a huge surplus of minerals/gas unless you're teching to ultra. This is so zerg can go from a huge surplus of gas and minerals down to 0, all in ultra (while hopefully upgrading their armor, weapon, and watching your food supply so that you don't have to halt production to wait for ovies to finish). 5-3 (Armor-Weapon upgrades respectively) Ultras accompanied by 3-3 crack (speed and attack speed) lings are deadly. There are many ways Zerg can win though, whether it's a 3 hatch ling build, or 4 hatch hydra (usually used in ZvP where the toss FE [fast expos]), muta, muta to lurk (used a lot in ZvT), 4 hatch hydra to lurk contain + scourge to take out obs/science vessel, so you can take the map and gather enough gas to produce enough ultras + upgrades (used in ZvP. Now, I can imagine that you probably suck, and that's okay. If your goal is to get better, then great. Know that you'll lose a lot, but as you improve, and start kicking people's butts, the more fun you'll have! Heh, but the even harder you'll have to work to continually get better. I'd suggest you host some 1:1 Play/obs games in UMS (use map settings) and watch some good zergs play. Save the reps, see what they do, and see if you can incorporate some of that in to what you do. When you lose, save the replays. Get someone who knows what the hell they're talking about break down and analyize what you did wrong. As you progress you should be able to do this by yourself. Practice does not make perfect. I'm a legion pitching coach and instructor, believe me when I say this. Practice with proper feedback (ie. replays and people telling you correctly what to do) and the goal to work on a few things (because if you try to do everything at once it'll take a longer time for you to improve), trying to improve, will bring fast results. So, get a couple BO for each matchup, write them down/print them out and put them right beside you so you can look at what to do while you play. As you get better, you won't need to look at it any more, you'll have them memorized. Work on spending your money wisely. A strong economy (drones) = a strong offense. Know what unit combinations are best for each situation, and what units to go when. Micro (keeping a unit alive as long as possible) and Macro (the ability to spend your money while fighting in a battle [usually to produce more units, expo, etc...]) are key. Your APM will increase as you play more, you'll know what to do. Best of luck.
