can starcraft brood war be expanded from warcraft III?

a guy at a store said that i could use brood war expansion if i had warcraft III or diablo. is this possible?

3. No, it's not possible. You need the original Starcraft to play Brood War. Lucky for you, you can get it for 10 bucks pretty much anywhere.
4. It is possible but most likely not what you are thinking. Online play in Warcraft III use some zerg characters in games that players designed. They uploaded the characters using a special patch. I am not sure about Diablo but I assume so. Hope this helps.
