what can i do to get better in the game starcraft?

every time i play i have to use cheats to survive. how can i get better cause it really sucks that i have to use cheats and i wanna be like the pros. i am willing to do lots of training and hope to find strategies. and i dont understand the whole scouting thing cause everytime i send a scv to scout it gets destroyed. i usually get killed in 4 minutes without cheats cause protoss zealots come and attack me with 15 of them when i only have built 5 marines since the beginning of the game. plz help!

1. Ironically enough, the best way to get better is to copy other people, computer included. In fact, one of the quickest ways to improve your skill is to use the fog of war cheat (black sheep wall) but ONLY that one. At least now you can see when the enemy gets their first production building (Protoss - gateway, Zerg - Spawning Pool, Terran - Barracks) and properly suit your build order to match. Chances are you're making the typical newbie mistake in not building enough workers. Also, since I assume you play Terran, bunker whoring is your best friend as a beginner. Memorize the maps, and know which enemy you're fighting against, to tailor your build to that race. I.e., against zerg you want more marines and siege tanks, while against protoss you want more firebats and possibly wraiths. Lots of expert build orders are online. Alternatively, try this program: http://bwchart.teamliquid.net/us/bwcoach.php It's supposed to increase your skill by telling you when to do what. Might be a good way to get familiarized with the build orders. Hope this helps and have fun!
