What can i do to get better in the game starcraft?

What can i do to get better in the game starcraft? every time i play i have to use cheats to survive. how can i get better cause it really sucks that i have to use cheats and i wanna be like the pros. i am willing to do lots of training and hope to find strategies. and i dont understand the whole scouting thing cause everytime i send a scv to scout it gets destroyed. i usually get killed in 4 minutes without cheats cause protoss zealots come and attack me with 15 of them when i only have built 5 marines since the beginning of the game. plz help!

1. It sounds like you are still playing the story mode. you won't get better playing those. you need to play online against other players. Register and download iCCup. this is an easy way to find players at the same level as you and better. you are struggling against the computers and most experienced players who are D level iCCup players can easily beat the computers, so if you want to become a programer then you have a very long way to go. It is a wikipedia type of search engine that has a lot of useful tips on strategies and counter strategies race specific. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Strategy And watching progamer VODs are also useful. Go to SC2GG for those. http://sc2gg.com/ Even after looking through the Strategies, watching VODs, etc. improvement will not happen overnight. it might not even happen in a year. some people have been playing this game for all of the years since it came out and they are no where close to being a pro. So don't be dissapointed if you do not reach your goal. As for the scouting thing, it is actually an essential part of the game to scout and scout often. you need to know what your opponent is making. When you see certain buildings those are hints that the player is going to make certain units. Spire = mutas, Physics lab = Battlecruisers, Fleet Beacon = Carriers, etc. It sounds like you are a Terran player. The Terran race has the easiest scouting ability. Send SCV and micro against opponent until you get the information you want. Then the rest of the scouting sould come through floating buildings or scans. Again, scouting is very important. It also sounds like youmacro is lacking. The protoss should never have more zealots than terran marines. marine produce faster. If you are lacking in macro, you need to make more unit producing buildings. I'm just addressing the issues you are talking about, but visit the sites that I have listen... and stop playing against computers. you won't get any better playing against those.
