I have Starcaraft brood war installed from a CD, but i dont have the first part, so it doesnt allow to play?

I have Starcaraft brood war installed from a CD in my PC, but i dont have the first part, so it doesnt allow to play starcraft! WHAt do i have to do? is there sometipe of patch? or whatever, please, web pages also!!!!! BIG THX, 10 points up for first best answer!

1. Sadly, you do need the first part, I ran into the same mistake as you have. It's worth going out and buying it, though, I love playing that game online. As far as a patch, I don't think there's one, although there may be if you dig deep into the internet. Best of luck to you and your gaming.
2. That's pretty weird i also have starcraft and starcraft broodwar and they're installed in different folders and they both work fine. Maybe the cd version is only an expansion i have the whole game + broodwar expansion so you might have to get starcraft. Try bittorent or strongdc++ i'm sure you'll find it.
