Do i need to have a full game on my battlenet account to add Starcraft 2 betta key?

I want to get my starcraft 2 Beta key from gamestop but i dont have any games registered on my battlenet account. Will i be able to register and play starcraft 2 Beta? I ask this cuse since i dont have any full games i cant opt in for the betas on the battlenet website.
