how do you get better at games like starcraft and age of empires?

im having trouble with these types of games nd i cant seem to win a single game without using cheats.

1. practice makes perfect. the reason you cant get better is because you cheat, i get good at a game before cheats because its to much of a temptation to use cheats. try beating the whole campaign on easy, then go for medium then hard. do custom games that are just 1V1 or with allies so its hard to loose, and eventually get rid of the allies or add more enemies or make the difficulty more. and a tip is that even when the other persons army is crushing you, dont give up. escape with some SVUs or villagers and try to rebuild a different place... dont just quit when your about to loose. play it out till the end
2. Stop cheating, genius. You can't get better with cheats. Kind of sad. As for improvement, practice. Play a level you're trying to beat, scout out the entire map, and then just study it. Look for chokepoints, ambush spots, etc. Restart once you know what you're going to do, and go for it.
