How to be good in starcraft? (tips on protoss)?

Ok i have played on some lan games in some internet cafe's DC. but i need tips on using protoss race. In the start i know what to do, geyser, pylon and barrack thingies are the first thing i build. what do i do next? build forces, then build buildings and upgrades? or build buildings then build forces? pls help lol i get my ass kicked everytime cuz idk man they are like fast and stuff.

1. usually depends on who your playing zergs usually go for the quick kill as other classes usually takes more time to build. I would recommend building some troops before building alot of buildings and upgrades, better to have some defence than none all. for protoss the cannons are killer defence. Build a Gateway so u can get some troops in and surround it with pylons and cannons. Remember with only 1 pylon around a building the enemy can just destroy the pylon to disable all the buildings in that area
