What religion is the most similiar to that of the Protoss in Starcraft?

2. star craft ? ok. thats tough. it would almost have to be military. for the humans. but for bugs and earth dwelling creatures there would have to be a Bug God and the flying Head.
3. Mithraism. Mithraism was a Ancient Mystery Cult which was open only to males and emphasized military themes as well as reincarnation... both of which the Protoss have in their culture. Mithraism also shared the same basic Cosmology as Greek Pagans and the Orphics, which means that they believed that we are all part of the oneness of the universe and share our basic lifeforce with all that which is, all that which will be and all that which has been... which is kinda like the whole crystal energy thing, sorta. Mithraism also would take place in underground chapels or sanctuaries in many places in the ancient world - which isn't like mining for minerals, but you could kinda make a stretch and say it is. =) Hope that helped. (Now if you wanna know what religion is most similar to that of J'kar and his coffee stained religious text, well, I'd hafta say early to middle Second Temple Judaism (before the emergence of Christianity) or the mysticism that grew out of the thought of Rabbi Isaac Ben Solomon Luria in 16th centry Safed... but that's a whole other question)
