starcraft brood war no cd patch?

i followed the instructions given by the blizzard website on how to play brood war without a cd with the patch but after copying install.exe and renaming it broodwar.mpq it still wont let me play without a cd. i have vista 64 bit. does 64 bit interfere with this? how can i fix this? i did try reinstalling it and it doesnt work.

1. Google starcraft brood war no-Cd patch. you might find something there. otherwise you can download a patch from www.gamecopyworld.com but its only legal if you own the game.
