Starcraft 2 Protoss strategy and build order? I am a Newbie in starcraft 2 but i was very good in starcraft 1 . On starcraft 2 i decided my race is protoss and now i know all the units and buildings, but, i nead something to start with so a tried the Tow gateways Build order and zealot rush but it did not go so well. so now i want a really good strategy.

Starcraft Protoss 2 Gateway Opening help? (Early-Mid game and Opening Execution)? I'm using this opening against Zerg, and there are two problems. 1) Building the Pylon uses up too much time to keep the unit count correspondent to building the Gateways. 2) Early-Mid game is usually killed by the fact that I keep getting swarmed by Zerg rushes. In Starcraft 2, I play protoss and my friend plays terran, and he uses a heavy siege tank, marine, marauder,? In Starcraft 2, I play protoss and my friend plays terran, and he uses a heavy siege tank, marine, maurauder push at around the 10 minute mark. He doesn't expand until much later. However, as protoss i have no clue how to stop this attack. I have been using a 4 gate opener with heavy focus on stalkers and sentries. I can't even use force fields to block my ramp because the tanks siege up around the edge of my base and use a single medivac (the only one he has at the time) to scout the cliff so that the tank can do a ton of damage. I've thought to try to deny his expansion and starve him for late game while expanding, but this push just crushes me and I am forced to cancel my expansion and I still get crushed as he pushes into my base. My apm is higher than his however. He also walls off extremely early, making it almost impossible to get any units into his base around the 3 or 4 minute mark so I can't do an early push. His first siege tanks come out around 7 or 7:30 minute mark. How do I counter this??? I beat him once with some dark templars but that's only going to work once, and besides, that's cheap play. Air units such as void ray are very gas heavy and already with my stalker sentry unit mix i run out of gas (I get a gas while my first gateway is going up and the second gas shortly after). Also, if I get void rays, how do I make sure that his marine force doesn't crush my air units? I would really appreciate some help and as a silver league player I'm not very good, and atm I feel like I'm only losing to my terran friend because he's terran. If anyone could help that would be AMAZING... Online I find a lot of build orders and guides but never anything about how to counter each build properly. THANKYOU in advance!!!!!

Will there be a protoss-zerg hybrid in the upcoming Starcraft 2? All the gameplay previews and cinematics i've seen so far show only three races in the upcoming starcraft 2. Isn't it that in brood war, Duran was sent by the Xel'Naga to help create a 4th race, the protoss zerg Hybrid.

STARCRAFT 2 BETA PLAYERS ONLY: Do you think Protoss is overpowered? From Chrono Boost to Mothership, Protoss is toting some powerful new abilities. Perhaps too powerful. Blizzard happened to make Protoss the new "rush race" and the race with the strongest units. I get stomped so much by zealot rushes and void ray spam. It's weird how 10 void rays beat 30 or so marines.

Starcraft 2: What's the best way to destroy cannons with protoss? I know destroying pylons shuts down the cannons but its hard when theres too many cannons and pylons.. What protoss units are strong against destroying cannons?

Starcraft 2 - Doubling my units/structures? In starcraft 2 (protoss) I try to make my probes get minerals and make a few pylons for some more probes. When I get my gas extractor up i either get rushed by a bunch of marines, zerglings, or a protoss probe planting photon cannons on my base...i tried the photon cannon thing but i never get the time before they get to me first...how can i counter this? and what are some strategies i can use? thanks :D

Starcraft 2 Terran vs Protoss help? How do you keep up with early rushes by protoss players early on in the match, they send a few zealots and just start doing work, I can more-less contain them but then when it comes to air combat they just zerg me with void rays. I can't pump out the same strength. It's especially annoying because of all the shields and this usually ends early. The few times I can almost win is when I turtle and just shed out a shitton of battlecruisers and flood my base with turrets, in which case I can do a pretty good counterattack after they've exhausted, but this can usually last like 2 hours. any strategies you might know?

I need some Protoss help in Starcraft 2? Im currently 100 bronze league and I need help! I have no idea what I do wrong but i always lose. I scout like im supposed to, I counter like im supposed to, my build order is great. But for some reason I always lose, either by getting rushed, or by not having enough of an army to kill anything. When I think im going fast and I have 10-15 zealots ready togo.. BAM I get rushed by tons of zerglings and roaches and banelings. All I really know how to play is Protoss but all help is welcome.

Starcraft 2 help with Zerg vs protoss? So I run Zerg and my friend runs Protoss and owns me every time. He has this strategy where he just barracdes himself in his base with cannons and expands out. Then he goes star gates and masses carriers. Anyway around this. I can't seem to do anything to get pass his cannon turtling. And banelings don't really do the trick. Any advice?

how am i supposed to beat protoss as zerg in starcraft 2? zerg has a strong early game so i push early only to find protoss turtled in. when theyre turtled i expand. when i expand they build op void rays. i get mutas to counter voidrays but mutas are pretty much useless after that. any good player will see a nydus worm from a mile away so going in backdoor is out of the question. cant sneak in their base b/c of photon cannons being detectors and anti air. cant muta harass because of photon cannons either. i dont think zerg has a chance in hell against protoss. can anyone give me some advice?

Whats a good Starcraft 2 strategy for Terran and Protoss (not a rush)? Me and my 2s partner are in the silver ladder and are currently in 12th in our division with a record of 7-4. The terran usually builds a barracks with about 7 marines to fend off the rush, while that's going on he goes straight to thors and masses them. We have been experimenting with Thors. For example we went 3-2 on mass thors both as terran, then we'd do mass thors and mass stalkers. That went...okay. But the terran always masses thors. What is the best complement for thors if i am playing as protoss???? -Thors and Stalkers? -Thors and Void Rays? -Thors and Pheonixs? Were open to other suggestions

I need help versing Protoss in Starcraft...I play as Zerg.? I play as zerg and I've been trying to beat my bro. But what here's the strategies he does.. 1. He'll dark templar rush me... How to become great at Starcraft 2? I just bought Starcraft 2 and I am extremely terrible at the game. I can't even beat the campaign modes on the easy setting. I don't know the units, I don't know the strategy, and I'm almost completely lost. What should I do to become good at the game, should I continue to play in campaign mode? IF I play in campaign mode, will I get to play as the zerg and protoss so I can learn how to use those units too?

Where are the HEROES IN Starcraft 2!!?!? Apart from that one mission in starcraft 2's Protoss side mission (which you had lumped together heroes), you don't get much other heroes in the game. Sure you get Jim Raynor , but there are no sub-heroes involved that you can respect due to their continued appearances in missions. Like Fenix in SC1, he appeared in a couple of missions making you respect both his charactor and ability as a sturdy unit. Then he DIES but comes back for more bacon as a dragoon. And what about Edmund Duke, Samir Duran etc etc etc. In SC2 you get a mission where all the heroes get lumped together and you dont know jack about them. Who is Selendis? what did she do? And that Nydus Worm mission was pretty ok but still sub standard too.... I guess SC isnt a hero orientated game like WC3 So wheres the Terran heroes? At LEAST send Matt down with a battle cruiser or something!?

Why won't my video play as a video in windows media player? I downloaded the Starcraft 2 protoss gameplay video and when I try to open it, it opens as a audio file and I cannot see anything in WMP.

Why are dark templars in Starcraft 2 not uncloaking for detector buildings and units? I'm a terran player. I've had several games in a row now against protoss players. Each time they've used dark templars and each time those templars have stayed cloaked even when I had towers and turrets in my defense. Why?

Starcraft 1, Terran counter to Protoss Zealot + Dragoon force? Hey so I've been playing Starcraft 1 a lot recently (because I'm excited for Starcraft 2). I'm trying to become an expert at the Terran race, but I'm having troubles beating this one particular Protoss strategy. The Protoss player will build like 3-5 Gateways and just produce tons of Zealots and Dragoons. Then it seems that no matter what force I have, they always get slaughtered by the waves of Zealots and Dragoons that they are able to produce so fast! What are some ways to counter this using Terran? It is always within the first 10-15 minutes of the game.

Starcraft 2 Account-Reset Help, Redoing the Placement Matches? I am a Starcraft fan for many years and in Starcraft 1 i used Zerg. In Starcraft 2 I attempted my same strategy, but it fail in most of my placement matches and am in Bronze and Silver. Now i use Protoss and i am always on top at the score screen, but my teammates are always horrible because they are new to the game. Is there a way to reset my account to redo my placement matches. In Starcraft 2: Wings Of Liberty's Skirmish mode, will you be able to play as all three races? I know that the campaign is terran but i want to know if u can be able to play as any of the three races? (Zerg, Terran and Protoss)

In Starcraft 2, are Archons any good against air units? I notice that the Protoss faction have very few options and resources when it comes to producing ground units that can attack air units. Can a bunch of archons do the trick? I understand that there are better options, but I (being a huge fan of both types of templars) would have a very easy time transitioning into tier 3 in the longer battles if I could go that route, even if just for a short time to chain into something else. Protoss. yea they are hard to build. but when you get going, it is always the way to be. please no little pokemon kids come in here asking "what is this game?" and " i dont know what you are talking about. just answered for points" **EDIT** well Terran is well balanced but when you attacked. the terran defenses arent very good. unless you have dual seige tanks at each entrance, ghosts ready to use lock down, spider mines, and Goliaths. but if you have all of that... you are to poor to think about offense, btw goliaths best zerg rushing defense... shame it takes to long to get xD what did i say about zerg rushing?

Protoss - Zealot = became more "cooler" with new cool spell, i bet they will be used more in starcraft - immortal, and Stalker = lame name, these 2 units should be banned. if they had stalker(new dragoon) why do they need immortal? nice try, Blizzard - twilight arcon = so lame name............. why change a name? it's same as arcon -colossus = wow amazed, cool unit, but as everyone know, u copied from "War of the world..." -Mothership = I hate this unit..... it destorys all balanced thing soo badly that everyone would chose protoss. starcraft 2 game ? i just herd that they are making starcraft 2 into 3 different games. one for each race i know that. my question is, can u play other races in each game. i no u can play other races in multi player. but what about campaign mode and custom maps? i dont want to get teh terran one if i can only play terran i like protoss also.

Some good strategies for Starcraft 2? I love Starcraft, but for over ten years all I've played against is the AI. Starcraft 2's AI gives me a fun challenge (I have a hell of a time with very hard AI) but the AI is very predictable. I'd love some great strategies to keep up with my friends (my friend completely raped me with three reapers) and beat the very hard AI in the late game. I usually play Protoss just because their early game units can take a lot of hits and also dish out the pain. Typically, I start by building 2 probes, 1 pylon, 2 more probes, then a gateway.

In starcraft 2 : Why did the Zerg get so shafted when it came to new units ? I mean come on, the zerg basically only got 2 new units. The Brood Lords are almost exactly the same as the guardians, and corrupters are very similar to devourers. Roaches and infestors are the only new units that really came out, and infestors are really close to defilers.... Zerglings, Hydras, Mutas, Ultras, are all almost exactly the same as they were, I mean.... it seems like only two new units were brought into play. Overseer's, Queens, Banelings. Protoss got sentries, stalkers, immortals, colossi, void rays, phoenix, and warp prisms, Stalkers are dragoons with blink. and terran got mauraders, reapers, vikings, banshees, thors, hellions, and ravens, plus the "comsat station" was totally overhauled to the orbital command giving MULE's too. Thors are just an upgraded goliath. Hellions are just Firebats on wheels. I mean... this just seems like zerg got screwed. Zerg are weak in starcraft 2! To me, the fact that Zerg seems like they have the least changed is a good thing.

Starcraft 2 Multiplayer question? I heard there are going to be 3 separate games you have to buy to play the campaign mode. One for Terran, one for Zerg, and one for Protoss. Will you be required to buy all three to play all 3 races in the multiplayer version? I could really care less about the campaign mode. I just want to play multiplayer. Does anyone know?

What race should I play in StarCraft 2? I pretty much only play 1v1 games on the ladder. Currently I am Diamond league level with my Protoss (the race I'm laddering with now). I experimented with Zerg for about 40-50 games during the second phase of the beta testing. Playing Zerg seemed fun but I am definitely quite a bit weaker with them. Grinding ladder games would easily fix this. However, I really enjoyed playing through the single player campaign and playing as Terran in my multiplayer games seems like it could be fun. Basically, I enjoy all races equally and can't decide on which one I should play. All of them or random are not really options because getting good at one race is hard enough already. Yahoo Answers... what race should I play? :(

Starcraft 2- cant find video!? I remember almost a year ago, there was a presentation by a bald staff of Blizard showing the new terran and protoss units. There was actual video's of the units in small scale battles, and in the end, the green zerg things made the sign GG. What is the best Starcraft 2 Race? in your opinion? This is a speculative question, since SC2 isn't out yet. So many answers are based on videos of gameplay and the official site. I currently play as Protoss (funnest imo), but I'm a noob and better players of course prefer Zerg and Terran. So, which do you think will be the stronger race this time? (tho they try to balance them). I personally hope the Protoss get better, since they're underappreciated in SC1 at least in competitive circles.

Why was the Protoss Mothership edited? I just saw the demo for the upcoming Starcraft 2, and to my amazement i saw this Protoss Mothership with 3 abilities namely the Planet Cracker, Timebomb, and the Back Hole which was supposedly for warping out air units. Then the next day i just found out that the Black Hole ability was removed, and as a result, players can now make more than one mothership as opposed by the earlier demo i saw where a player can only use one mothership at a time. just wonderin' ;-)

Starcraft Help! please help me!? Hi, i have just started playing starcraft and im on the 3rd level of the protoss campaign. but i am totaly stuck. i cant find a way into the zerg base to destroy the ceberates because it seems that there are 2 islands, im on one and zerg is on another. ive tried everything please help. im a noob XD

StarCraft Lore? I am one of many people who are already dead and in the grave from holding our breath waiting on StarCraft 2. Thing is, I'm still holding. If it does come out, it won't come a second too soon. In the mean-time, who follows StarCraft enough to know what the current situation in overall plot development is? I know that at the end of the final Broodwar campaign, Kerrigan and her minions attacked and defeated the UED Fleet as well as all of the Dark Templar and Protoss forces, leaving the remnant Terran and Protoss groups to fend for themselves while Kerrigan and Co. trailed off to some distant and undiscovered galaxy -- with the announcement that she would return some day and wipe them all out in full force. Beyond that, everything else I have read has either been part of some non-canon fan campaign, fan fiction, and questionable novelizations found on bookstore shelves. So.. I am thoroughly confused. How do things finally end up? Anybody know where the SC universe currently is?

starcraft strategy help? sadly i can only face the computer until i get starcraft 2. but in facing the computer i'm still having difficulties. i'm trying to focus on the zerg, and i always win against the protoss and zerg, but get my ass raped by the terran. i tried playing terran vs zerg and it was wicked easy. any clue what my flaw is in this, or is the computer just way too cheap

Is anyone psyched about Starcraft II? I know people are still into WoW, Though I never played any of the franchise. But I played Starcraft and Brood Wars and that was awsome. Blizzard admitted to neglecting the Starcraft series but even so it is still played around the world even today. I have to admit that the series is very compatible with nearly any computer since I first ran it on a 200MHz and now I'm running it on a 3.4GHz with Windows XP without any compatability adjustments. I heard Blizzard is taking their time on Starcraft 2 because they don't want people to be disappointed with it since it's been 10yrs since the last installment. Is anyone psyched about the next installment? any speculation? is there anything you hope they shed the light on? I got left with that cliffhanger at the end when the Protoss found that the Deminion were trying to make Hybrids of the Protoss and Zerg to make a stronger race. Thanks for any answers. Peace!

I need help in Starcraft? I need a big favor. tomorrow, I am versusing basically the best starcraft player in town. It is gonna be a two on two. He is so cocky and i know it kills the fun of the game but i just wanna beat him once. Just once so he would finally shut up. My race is protoss and his race is zerg. He is so good. I mean he embarressed me so badly but taking out all my photon cannons with 6 zerglings and the orange cloud that makes anybody in it invinsible. That was so smart. Anyways, does anyone have a really good strategy from start to finish. I need a detailed strategy (don't be lazy guys). I need to know everything from how to stop his rushes, to how to rush him myself. I also need to know what to do in the long run and what is the best offense and defense strategy. Some of these battles can last about 2 hours so less. There has to be someone out there that is better than him so can that person please helpp me.

how do i beat my uncle in starcraft? reasons why he wins: 1.i use hotkeys he doesnt but he still progresses faster. 2.he always carrier rapes me... 3.i dont know how to choke... 4.he never NEVER uses ground units for offence(oh by the way he only attacks with carriers hes protoss im terran) 5.i dont know what are the correct things to make at the start of the game... 6.he doesnt choke either... 7.whenever he attacks with carriers he always goes to my undefended spot and when i rush goliaths there he takes them back and forward like a hit and run maneuver. 8.i dont know how to take down a carrier storm...

parts cut off on tv screen when i play d2 and sc on my comp? ok my dad uses a hp screen for a monitor insted of a normal comp screen. so i play diablo 2 and guess what? a very important part is cut off. the top. the place where the monster's health bar is. and in starcraft, the top is cut off, too. I mean, WHY THE TOP???? I cant see how much minerals and vespene gas i have. its very annoying. (sry ppl who dont play these games, it must sound very wierd to u.) in general, all im asking u is when i play full screen games, how come parts are black???how come theyre cut off!!! it is annoying! plz tell me how to fix this problem. and also, my computer is new and it says it has a bad vid card or something and the comp shows wierd colors and everything is the wrong color, and the rain is like neon sprinkles. also when sc is loading, kerrigan and terran guy and protoss is all balck and white and then it turns good. im sorry for all these questions. and the runnons. thanks for the help.

Starcraft 2 in three different parts? Blizzard announced last week that starcraft 2 would release in 3 different parts which 1 part for each race ( terran, zerg, protoss). Does that mean that the multi-player will only have 1 race?

Starcraft Computer AI Trigger Settings? I've created a map using the orig starcraft campaign editor I use to make lots of maps about 2 years back but i cant remember the trigger settings for the comp AI anymore... Ive set locations and tried setting the AI settings "Run AI Script At Location" but its not working.. Anyone know how to set the trigger settings? I need to Set A trigger that will cause The third player (comp) to control its units for all 3 bases (terran zerg and protoss) but it starts the game and the workers mine but each time they all come back one stops mining and then another and another till they all arnt... why is it doing this?
